Droid and Octi

Ok so those chocolate covered espresso beans are so not working. I wanted to finish Totoro tonight but looks like its not going to happen so this'll be my last post tonight. So these are two simple creations.

The Android pattern is from Bethsco. I didn't finish the eyes because I wasn't sure what I wanted to make it out of and I wanted him to be able to sit so I didn't include the legs. Fairly simple pattern you can finish in a couple of hours. Stuffing and sewing was the biggest challenge. Too much stuffing made him look an odd shape and I had to make sure to sew his head in such a way that it made a nice line.

Octi is from the book "Tiny Yarn Animals" graciously gifted by my lovely friend Vanessa :) I was having issues with him because I didnt quite figure out how I could fit 8 legs onto such a tiny body. GAH I'm getting sleepy... umm... He's more of a prototype and made with Sugar'n Creame scented yarn. Kept him in a ziplock bag to keep the scent but I worry once I ship him to Alicia, the soap smell will disperse. But we shall see and I'm dying over here so I'm going to sleep. Enjoy.

LBP: Sack Boy

Say hello to Nerdigurumi's pattern of Little Big Planet's Sack Boy (commissioned by Yannica). Instead of a solid brown, I used a multicolored Sugar n Cream which gives him a more textured look like in the game. I also got a tad lazy so I used felt for his zipper...but yarn for the... wait... what is the pulling part of a zipper called? Whatever, I'm sure you can tell by the pictures. Anywho, his eyes (along with the fancy bunny) are made out of doll joints. They look exactly like the ones I bought labeled doll eyes, just bigger.

I've only been able to find them at a really big Joanne's, unfortunately all the way in NorCal. So if someone knows where I can find them (they're not in Oxnard, Ventura, or Camarillo - Joanne's, Michael's, Fabric Town USA) limme know. Well that's all, onward to the next creation.

Fancy Bunneh

This silly fancy moustache bunny is for Vanessa! I feel like he needs a monocle and a top hat but I didn't want to over do it. I used the same yarn as the previous bunny and got the pattern from Sheep Dog's Fleece. There's not much to say about the pattern; it's simple and straightforward. I guess the most useful thing about this pattern is that it provides a generic body shape that can be utilized for other things and now... I KNOW HOW TO MAKE A MOUSTACHE!!!! And with that I'm going to get coffee now... oh you fancy :)

Despicable Me Minions

OKAY! I'm alive, mad not emo, and been crocehting so I finally have motivation and items to post :D
So let me finally introduce the Minions! The pattern from the shorter one comes from CrochetGoods and I just added more sc to make the other one taller. I used the usual Suger'n Cream brand yarn and felt. I did some makeshift felt work instead of crocheting the goggles and using googly eyes. I do gotta say that cutting out a G that small sucked, but then again but I'm not exactly doing all this at a proper table. I found this pattern cuter than the one from WolfDreamer who proves a pattern for a really large one if you want. Not much else I can say about these guys other than my friend was way to amused putting them in suggestive positions. Anyway, off to eat dinner so more will be up tonight.
