I'm back on blogger so I can post my designs. This isn't going to be a regular thing yet because I'm trying to churn out my orders before xmas and still trying to get a job. But hey at least I FINALLY did my first pattern. Once I figure out how to do all this PDF uploading mumbo jumbo properly, I'll do this more often. lol ok well good luck and enjoy

Raverly
I'm such a lame. I am currently now on Ravelry and trying to update myself on there since it is an actual site dedicated to crafting. And I'm job hunting as a college graduate should so I haven't really had time to make anything. I'd actually like to start reading books I bought but I can't really crochet and read books at the same time, it's kinda a downer. So blog is postponed. Hopefully I get one of these jobs I'm applying to and can actually start buying a lot more yarn, more designs, a workspace. Peace of mind would just be nice. Well ok bye for now.

I'm Alive
Oops for no posts or anything and just kind of disappearing. I actually made a Totoro (pictures pending) and sent out my box of amigurumi to my friends in Hawaii :) so hopefully I have some adventure pics of the creations. After I sent those out I actually went on a 2 week vacation so I didn't crash and die or anything. Current project won't be up for another week. My first original creations (well the Jawa was original but it wasn't the cleanest job I've done) are tiger head cupcake toppers for my nephew's 1st bday. So in a week, I will have massed a small army and hopefully it looks squee :) well that is all, time to continue creating the army.

Droid and Octi
Ok so those chocolate covered espresso beans are so not working. I wanted to finish Totoro tonight but looks like its not going to happen so this'll be my last post tonight. So these are two simple creations.
The Android pattern is from Bethsco. I didn't finish the eyes because I wasn't sure what I wanted to make it out of and I wanted him to be able to sit so I didn't include the legs. Fairly simple pattern you can finish in a couple of hours. Stuffing and sewing was the biggest challenge. Too much stuffing made him look an odd shape and I had to make sure to sew his head in such a way that it made a nice line.
Octi is from the book "Tiny Yarn Animals" graciously gifted by my lovely friend Vanessa :) I was having issues with him because I didnt quite figure out how I could fit 8 legs onto such a tiny body. GAH I'm getting sleepy... umm... He's more of a prototype and made with Sugar'n Creame scented yarn. Kept him in a ziplock bag to keep the scent but I worry once I ship him to Alicia, the soap smell will disperse. But we shall see and I'm dying over here so I'm going to sleep. Enjoy.

LBP: Sack Boy
Say hello to Nerdigurumi's pattern of Little Big Planet's Sack Boy (commissioned by Yannica). Instead of a solid brown, I used a multicolored Sugar n Cream which gives him a more textured look like in the game. I also got a tad lazy so I used felt for his zipper...but yarn for the... wait... what is the pulling part of a zipper called? Whatever, I'm sure you can tell by the pictures. Anywho, his eyes (along with the fancy bunny) are made out of doll joints. They look exactly like the ones I bought labeled doll eyes, just bigger.
I've only been able to find them at a really big Joanne's, unfortunately all the way in NorCal. So if someone knows where I can find them (they're not in Oxnard, Ventura, or Camarillo - Joanne's, Michael's, Fabric Town USA) limme know. Well that's all, onward to the next creation.

Fancy Bunneh
This silly fancy moustache bunny is for Vanessa! I feel like he needs a monocle and a top hat but I didn't want to over do it. I used the same yarn as the previous bunny and got the pattern from Sheep Dog's Fleece. There's not much to say about the pattern; it's simple and straightforward. I guess the most useful thing about this pattern is that it provides a generic body shape that can be utilized for other things and now... I KNOW HOW TO MAKE A MOUSTACHE!!!! And with that I'm going to get coffee now... oh you fancy :)
Despicable Me Minions
OKAY! I'm alive, mad not emo, and been crocehting so I finally have motivation and items to post :D
So let me finally introduce the Minions! The pattern from the shorter one comes from CrochetGoods and I just added more sc to make the other one taller. I used the usual Suger'n Cream brand yarn and felt. I did some makeshift felt work instead of crocheting the goggles and using googly eyes. I do gotta say that cutting out a G that small sucked, but then again but I'm not exactly doing all this at a proper table. I found this pattern cuter than the one from WolfDreamer who proves a pattern for a really large one if you want. Not much else I can say about these guys other than my friend was way to amused putting them in suggestive positions. Anyway, off to eat dinner so more will be up tonight.

Jawa
Say hello to my quickly and crudely made Jawa. So my best friend (Josh who just got back home, yay friend) is also a star wars fanatic and we were talking about SWTOR and he mentioned Blizz the Jawa as a companion in the game. Then I had an epiphany; Josh was going on a hiking trip for 10 days and he could totally have a companion. So I made him his own Blizz. His sarcastically agreed and so right now, Blizz on a trip and will return with adventure pictures better than my quick ones; granted Josh didnt forget to bring him -_- well i'll know in 10 days...
So on to the technical stuff. No pattern, just completely made from guess work. Made the body and arms with yarn. There were a lot of longer stitches because I was trying to finish it quickly. The head was felt because I needed to create an easy way to remove the lights and batteries because I did not build it with a switch. I probably should have taken a picture of my apparatus so lets hope he returns to me in one piece.
I took physics in college and learned how to make a basic circuit (at least I took something useful from that class). I used (from radioshack) two yellow LED lights, 2 wires (or was it an extra for.. just get a spool), AA battery holder with built in pos and neg wires, electrical tape and heat shrink tubing (I didnt quite know about the shrink tubing, thnx josh). The wires I used were too large so the circuit is a bit faulty because I couldnt intertwine it that well. The robe is 4 pieces of felt sewed together and 2 strips to make the belt and shoulder strap. I wanted to use leather but I ran out of time. When sewing the hood, I pulled on the string which gave it a more curved look.
So ya I think that's about it, remember don't look under a jawa's hood. Sorry I've been slacking with my creations. Josh came home to chill, I was on a trip job hunting, and I'm just tired. I tried making a super mario mushroom on my trip but it didnt turn out right and the jawa I had to redo multiple times since it was of my own design. I promise more amigurumi soon... hopefully my arm doesnt die from all the work :P Now time to go be lazy <3

Bunneh for Kristin
Finally finished the requested bunny from my friend. She found the pattern at Darncat Crochet. The yarn I used is shown below. The eyes are just black buttons that've gotten from an assorted pack. It's about two times larger than my other creations. I decided to not include the hind legs. They just protruded too much for my liking. I did no alterations to the pattern this time. Tried very hard to keep with the pattern this time since it was for my friend and not for experimentation/learning. Took me a while to make him just cuz life was keeping me busy, but ya here's Bunneh :)

Kirby
Finally, last one. Hiieeiii! Kirby was quick and simple like Bob-omb. Once again from Nerdigurumi. And I just realized I totally forgot to give him a little blush on his cheeks... oh well. Winged it on his feet again because I felt like they were too small. Just made a crappy felt star for him to ride on. Eyes made from felt and painted electric tape (covered in white out, ya I'm ghetto lol), mouth made from felt. My family's tea cup, dad's rose garden. Ummm ya... ok that's it all my already completed things are up. I'm going to go eat dinner now. Stay tuned for more figures :D
Super Mario Foes
In an attempt to get all my creations up before starting a new one, I am getting all blogged out. So the next couple are going to be straight to the point. Goomba pattern from Nerdigurumi but mine totally does not look like the one on the page but it actually looks more like a Goomba than the one on the page. Used felt for teeth and eyes, mouth used yarn. Left excess string to make a loop for hanging on something. Use a toothpick to keep him propped up.
Bob-omb pattern was from Amigurumi Zoo. Changes: fuse to a softer more string-y grey and white yarn given by my Lola (I didn't have grey yet), eyes are felt (glued on), added little bit of red to make it like fuse was burning, and improvised key cuz I totally didn't understand the instructions for it. I must say this is the roundest pattern I've gotten. So if you are planning to want a round figure, just follow this pattern.

YodaGurumi
Say hello to the adorable Yoda. I am a total star wars geek! I guess fangirl would be the proper term. Anyway, this design is not a Lucy Ravenscar pattern (who i think makes absolutly adorable items but I do not currently have the money to buy her patterns). I found this pattern on Happy Together blog. I haven't done much exploring on her blog so there may be more cool things. I didn't follow her feet pattern because it kept coming out way to big, same thing with the arms. Just a little modification which I can't explain because I kind of just wing it when it comes to my crocheting. I also made a felt robe instead and made his belt with excess tail from when I connected his body and head... or was it his arms... anyway it was excess something or other, like I said I'm just winging it as a noob crochet-er. His lightsaber is just pipe cleaner, I would have made a black handle but due to this being my new hobby, I don't quite have all my supplies in multiple colors yet. His eyes (along with Piggle's eyes) are just some buttons I found at Michaels/Joannes. Photos taken in my backyard again. The last one is an old coral we have, I figured it looked more star wars-esque . My dad use to have an import and export company of tropical fish.
Piggles and Fsh
Now that the drawings are done, welcome to my new hobby, AMIGURUMI! I know most people don't read the posts so I'm going to put this in my schpeal section eventually but here it goes. I'm a bored, recent college graduate. My friends aren't home yet, I don't have a job yet, and the closest thing I have to a boyfriend isn't home yet either. Sooo I decided to finally start this hobby with some of the graduation money I got. Go ahead and take a gander at my pictures since this is what this blog will mainly be about and sorry but I'm a fan of ellipsis and parenthesis so I may tend to use them a lot. And so on to the good stuff...
The Fsh (named from the fish without the i joke) is the first thing I've made since I was 9 (granted when I was 9 I made a square pot holder). He's pretty meh looking but I got the pattern from a crochet starter kit I bought in the discount area of Barnes and Noble. The pig which has no name besides Piggles (my best friend dubbed him and since I haven't figured a name out yet I'm going with that at the moment) was also from the book. I would write the title and author but my family is currently yelling at me to get off the computer so we can go out and get lunch. The photos were taken in my backyard and my beach chair.
Doodle SCII
I was constantly over at my friend Joey's place. Don't know why, there really wasn't much to do than be lazy on the couch, watch movies, and eat... Well actually that doesn't sound to bad. I digress. One day while bored, I decided to doodle his StarCraft II box and his Jim Raynor writing pad. I tried to draw the Zerg/human chick (don't hurt me, I cant remember her name that starts with a K) but I suck so I couldn't. I looked dumb and so I threw it away... Karregan?
Doodling Intern
These doodles are a couple I did at internship. I interned at the Medical Examiners office during college and when no one dies, there REALLY isn't anything to do. So just for fun, I decided to start making a doodle each day for my old TA who just got a job there. It gave me something to do, and something for him to look forward too on slow days. I'm not so much a drawer, I just have the ability to look at something (preferably a cartoon, not so much IRL) and copy it.
